Omara Fernanda is a Nationality in the sport of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Omara is currently ranked number 6 in the world’s super lightweight division. Omara started Jiu Jitsu at the age of twelve and studied with his mother. At sixteen he began training with her and since then has won the purple belt under her tutelage. At twenty-one he became the first American ever to win the worlds blue belt.

Omara Fernanda’s biggest challenge will be competing in the men’s category against the previously mentioned Renato “Cien” Caminero. Omara has beaten Caminero before, but this will be his first fight in the men’s division. Omara has trained with both Caminero and Rogerio Cattleya, whom he beat fairly easily in their very first match. The reason he is fighting Caminero is because he is only one of the Brazilians that was originally promoted by Rogerio Caminero, who now is a Jiu Jitsu black belt himself. Omara has challenged him before in his life, but has yet to have a fight where he defeated Caminero.

In the open weight division Omara Fernanda is probably going up against Renato “Rosa” Caminero. The two have fought each other twice before in their careers, both times winning. The main concern is that both of them are hard workers who put the same amount of effort into each of their matches.
