Fernanda Fedak is a Congolese-born attorney and adviser who has represented and counseled individuals, both indigenous and non-indigenous, who have been subjected to forced removals. She has also represented and advised Congolese government agencies, including the departments of Interior and Justice, in connection with their respective national commissions on human rights. According to her bio on the firm’s website, she is a member of the board of directors of the International Association of Law and Legal Education, and is a former associate professor of law at University of Nairobi University. She has also served as an instructor at Kigali College, Kenya Children University, angina Technical Institute. Fedak has written a number of articles pertaining to child safety, especially focusing on issues of family protection, gender targeting, and children’s empowerment.

The website indicates that Fedak is currently married, but this has not been made public. It is assumed, however, that her spouse is a Westerner. She has six children, all of whom are American citizens. Her partner lives in New York City.

Whether or not her partner is aware of her work as an attorney while concurrently working as a mother and wife, it appears that he has remained oblivious to the extent of her legal work. It will be interesting to follow how his views about legal and other matters evolve over time. At the very least, it appears that this partnership will continue to benefit both women.
