Recently, Dana Rudyy, a tall and slim former Miss Universe recipient was married to an Iranian man in Dubai. She described her new husband as “a tall gentleman” in an interview with the English speaking press. The marriage was arranged by an agency in Dubai, Rudyy stated that she had known the man, Mustafa Azadi, for the last four years. A tall Iranian with a slender body, Mustafa is thought to be an inside trader for gold and gemstones in Dubai, much like Dana Rudyy.

In an interview with Der Spiegel Magazine, Dana Rudyy stated that she had known Mustafa for many years, they met when they were both model students. The age difference between the two was not a problem, however, when they decided to get married. Dana Rudyy’s mother had warned them of the age difference between the couple and it was strictly required in the UAE for women over a certain age to get marry a man who is below their age. This would have cost them the fee that they paid to join the agency. Nevertheless, the marriage went through, and Dana served as witness.

Once you decide to marry an expatriate, there are many things to consider. Nationality is a very important factor. An expatriate in Dubai may well be a German, but that does not mean that he/she would automatically be a German citizen. One must be aware of the nationality rules of the country of the partner prior to getting married. This is especially important for those who wish to change their nationalities to become citizens of that country.
