Sandra Nohra is currently the Philippines’ first lady of a national political office. She has been referred to as the Philippine President’s personal secretary since her appointment as the first lady of the Philippines during the term of Benigno Aquino, known officially as the Arsenio Filipina. However, some sources state that she is only a member of the Coronado Family which has held the hereditary right to the throne. Even though, she had been chosen for this post by the President due to her connection with the late dictator, Ferdinand Magellan, who was her father’s former aide.
As a matter of fact, she does not really share the same surname with her current spouse, though, she was given the surname of Nohra, after her marriage to a man identified as Alex Magno. It is very certain that she has been in the habit of taking care of the interests of her husband, even though, her official duties have been taken over by her current spouse. This was actually one of the reasons why she decided to pursue her love of writing, even when she had no intention of settling down in a quiet domestic life. She continued on pursuing her dream by penning love stories and novels focusing on the lives of women from different historical backgrounds, such as the life of Cleopatra, Genghis Khan, and Socrates. Her most published work is entitled, One Day in the Life of a Princess, which is an autobiographical novel that depicts her life, from her childhood days up till present.
Despite of her strong commitment to her husband, Sandra Nohra has always shown her personal affection for her mother, Maria Teresa Pazmino, who is the Philippines’ first lady of the nation. The President of the Philippines has stated, “Sandra is very much dedicated to her mother, as she’s the one who encouraged her to be what she’s done – a writer”. Though, she accepted her appointment as a national official, yet, she has also expressed her desire to be the next President of the Philippines. It is said that it would be Nohra’s greatest convenience to be assigned in the presidential administration because she feels that it would be an honor and privilege to serve as the first lady of the Philippines. As she herself is a woman who enjoys being a role model to young Filipinos, she is aware that her role in this cabinet will help young girls in becoming more aware of their country’s history, culture, and identity.
