Valentina Pelinel is a fashion designer, painter and writer from Chile. Born and raised in Mendoza, she is a fine arts graduate and specializes in watercolor and sketching. Acknowledged as one of the most influential figures in the history of art, Pelinel has been described as both a visionary and an innovator. Her works are appreciated worldwide for their unique style, which blends modern technology with elements of traditional style, beauty and originality.

Pelinel was born and raised in Mendoza, where her family came from a long line of artists, craftsmen and politicians. The family tradition was steeped in culture, which helped the young Pelinar focus her efforts on painting. From a very early age, Pelinar was able to draw, but it was not until she was 14 years old that she began studying art, drawing and sketching. After that, she decided to pursue a degree in the fine arts, and graduated from the University of Chile in Santiago, Chile where she gained a deep interest in everything about South American culture, as well as international art and its influences. Although this was a time in her life when she was already discovering her romantic side, Pelinar remained focused on developing her entrepreneurial skills and seeing how to make her own mark in the fashion industry.

Pelinar was invited by Moises Samoza to be one of the models for a successful clothing line, which he launched in 1963. Although the company failed within a few years, it was a lasting experience for Pelinar, who combined her love of fashion and her background in the design industry to create a successful business. As her career began to take off, she discovered her true inner passion for portraying women. In her paintings, she showed a rare beauty, but demonstrated a touch of class and sophistication, which all contributed to her successful business ventures. Samoza was so impressed with Pelinar’s artwork that he offered her a leading role in his upcoming biopic, The Autobiography of Valentina Pelinar, which is due to be released in 2021.
