Elena Xausa is currently working hard to make herself a name that will be remembered in the annals of history for all the wrong reasons, as a national sex offender. Elena’s plan for her future is to start a new life in the United States under a new identity and carry out her criminal activities from an unknown location, under an assumed name and employed fake identity to steal more money and to flee from authorities in the past. Elena has no intention of returning to her native Moldava and wants to start a new life. She has chosen to use a false identity to avoid serving time in Moldava prison where she served a sentence for the theft of a Channel Islands ferry in 2021 and for the attempted robbery of an automobile.

Elena had been scheduled for a mandatory two-year sentence on the theft conviction but at the last minute changed her plea to guilty to one count of aggravated identity theft. The sentence was expanded to include the maximum sentence of seven years in prison. Elena has always lived in the USA since her youth and her current partner has been living with her in the country since she was fifteen years old. Elena did not inform her partner that she was going to be prosecuted for a crime that originated outside the USA. Her plan was to avoid serving time in jail by changing her identity and entering the country. Elena did not inform her intended partner that she was about to go into a lengthy state prison term for theft that originated in Moldova and was associated with a former employer in the USA.

Elena Xausa’s plan to change her name and apply for a United States passport was foiled by federal agents and Immigration authorities. Elena had been cooperating with federal authorities investigating the theft of her identity in Moldova and after finding out that her photograph had been on the stolen passport of a US citizen, she was arrested while attempting to apply for a new passport. Her long sentence and criminal record in the USA for identity fraud, her illegal use of an immigrant visa, her previous residence in the USA and her intention to travel to the USA for rehabilitation have made it impossible for her to board a plane to return to Moldova. The only option left open to Elena Xausa is to remain in the USA until her appeals process through the immigration courts are complete.
