Elena Gual is a Romanian national who lives and works in Germany. Recently, Elena has made some waves in the German media because she was the first Romanian woman to get a seat in the German parliament (Bundestag). Elena is also well known as an entrepreneur who has established her own clothing line in the region of Moldava. But beyond that, Elena has made a name for herself as a fashion designer. Elena Gual’s achievements are too vast, and she has been able to combine her profession with her passion for fashion.
Elena Gual is originally from the small village of Sofia, Romania. Elena was born on the village’s peasant farm, and her family was involved in agriculture. After marrying in socialism, Elena Gual lived and worked in Germany, before she returned to Romania and joined her husband in farming. Elena only spent one season in Germany, moving back to her native country when her husband retired.
Elena Gual has always rejected any romantic notion of being a German. Despite this, Elena has never hidden her German nationality, or her love for Germany and all of its people. Elena’s husband, Ion Janko, was with her throughout her days as a pensioner, and he encouraged her to pursue her passion for Germany and design. This path finally led Elena to a career as a designer, and today she resides in Berlin, Germany.
