What is the Height Limit For an International Player?

Ansley Burns is currently playing on the English National Team. This is the third year that he has represented his country and Ansley is looking to prove himself as one of the best players available for England. He plays at left back, and looks to play the ball quickly to create chances for his team mates, and looks to hit the target with the best shot that he can. However, his nationalities also play a huge part in his selection for England; while he is half white (according to the census) and British (according to his passport), he is a Scotland international and plays for the England National Team.

Ansley Burns is listed at 5 feet 6 inches and is just under twenty-one years old. He was born and raised in Barnstaple, Cornwall, England, and is half Scottish, half British. Ansley is considered to be very tall for his age, and would rank within the top ten in terms of height among defenders for the England National Team. If you were to chart the progress of an eighteen-year-old Burns, it would be easy to see that he would start out at right back, playing left back in his youth team football career. Then, after playing for a number of clubs in the United Kingdom, including teams such as Nottsgate, Millwall and Crewe Alexandra, Burns would move on to play for “the big boys” in the English Premier League, where he currently plays for Burnley.

The good thing about Ansley Burns is that he looks more comfortable on the right side of the defence than his centre position, where his lack of height often makes him susceptible to being booked or sent off. It is not a problem for Burns, however; he knows how to read the game and positions himself to counter any situation that is presented to him. Also, he has a reputation for scoring goals and assisting his teammates; this skill is something that every new international player will need to learn, and Burns seems to have a natural ability to score goals. Overall, Ansley Burns has all the natural abilities to become a successful international player; all he needs is some time to develop his game and become more aware of his strengths and weaknesses.
