Aida Oulmou is an award winning author, whose novels, have won the hearts of people from various cultures and ages. She has brought out books for all age groups ranging from kindergarten children to adults. Her novels focus on romantic themes but with a universal message of love and peace. In her latest novel entitled “The Way of Men”, the main character Aida Oulmou, who was once known as Anatole France is given a new chance in her life. With the help of her friend Anatole, she vows to get out of her old way of life and find true love.

Aida Oulmou is a woman who is not defined by her nationality or her ethnicity. The world as we know it does not accept us, or rather, we do not accept ourselves, by our race and our nationality. We are often defined by our profession, by our education, by our place and by our occupation. Aida Oulmou, a woman who is not of African descent and who comes from a middle-class family, chooses to lead a double life, even though she knows that what she does is just a lie. She loves Anatole France and her friend.

However, this is not all that Aida Oulmou does to put a different shade on her life. She is not above putting her national identity on the line to save a relationship. In fact, Aida Oulmou, is faced with the challenge of finding her own identity after a relationship ends because of her association with Anatole France. She finds herself on the threshold of accepting her nationality, of becoming a Nigerien, and yet, still finding ways to hang on to her relationship with Anatole France. In the end, what saves her is the love of a man, Mathieu, from France, whom she falls in love with immediately.
