A Queen of Short Height

Height, looks, personality, all are important in a relationship. In the case of Juliana Ariza, the world now knows her as “the woman in the red hat”, a term that describes not only her physical attributes but also her strong spirit and her unique contributions to her Nationality, her family, her friends and to our society. The world has come to know Ariza as “the shortest human being known to mankind” because of the way she carries herself. Her height is just an aspect of who she is, but is it really?

You see, in all reality, the term “woman in the red hat” doesn’t describe her height at all. It only describes her personality. If you will recall, this woman was crowned Queen of Spain (the longest reigning queen in European history) and after Spain’s collapse, she continued to rule her half of the continent for almost two-thirds of a century. She loved her life, she loved her crown and she loved her role as “queen of the realm”. However, not even in her reign as queen did she sport the classic pin up girl short hair style even though she was already seventy years old and not one inch taller than her husband when they married.

Not even in her last minutes as queen did she resemble her much younger self in any way. This is not to say that she didn’t suffer from serious health problems throughout her life – there were plenty of them, even as a woman in her thirties, let alone as a woman in her fifties or sixties. But if we are to judge by her public appearances, the Queen of Spain shows no signs of slowing up her work even as she ages. Her fans don’t even realize that the Queen of Spain has turned into a much shorter version of herself as she ages, but that hasn’t stopped the Spanish fans from loving her and admiring her every day of her Spanish life.
