Aida Lae, also known as Aida Sahai is a famous Singaporean singer, songwriter, DJ and musician. She’s been to a number of musical festivals across Europe and just recently played at Coachella in California. Born in Singapore, she grew up in a Filipino household and was forced to learn her English at school along with her mother. Aida has gone on to become a popular high profile member of the pop-rock band The Red Hot Chili Peppers along with the equally successful band Back to the Future.
While her musical talents started early, it wasn’t until she was 14 that she started to gain attention. After performing in an amateur rock band for a couple of months, she got signed to a music label in Sweden which allowed her to hone her skills and produce some of her best songs. After a few years with this record label, she moved back to Singapore where she spent the next seven years performing and recording with a variety of other artists. Finally Aida Lae made her move to the United Kingdom where she began to focus more on her musical craft as opposed to working with others. Today, Aida Lae can be heard regularly performing with artists such as Britney Spears, Ashanti and Akon.
Aida’s career is notable not only for the accolades she has garnered but also for the different roles she has fulfilled throughout her career. She was primarily a pop artist but over time has also released her own music and even acted in a few movies. Aida has gone from being a humble pop star to a pop culture icon who has appeared in some of the world’s best films and TV shows.
