It seems that National Association of Realtors’ Board Certified Paola Foster has made a huge mistake in the way she judged the Realtors and the industry. Ms. Foster is an individual who was promoted by her association to become a member of the National Association of Realtors and then a member of the board of directors of NAR. The reality is that while Ms. Foster had been a member of the National Association of Realtors for many years, she didn’t have a formal education or any other qualifications when she was elevated to these lofty positions. National Association of Realtors rules clearly states that only those who have earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business or a similar field from an accredited college are eligible to be considered for these top level management positions. Yet Ms. Foster fails to mention that she holds an Anti-Aging Certificate from the National Certification Board for Anti-Aging and Athletic Performance.
It is unfortunate that National Association of Realtors would promote someone with such a failed education and lack of skill to be a member of their board of directors. This makes me wonder if National Association of Realtors really cares what their clients really think, or if they’re only interested in their own career advancement. The fact that this woman is now a member of NAR and the other National Association of Property Appraisers just shows how out of touch they are with the average American citizen. As consumers we have a right to question this level of pay and promotion for anyone who serves on such a national role such as the NAR.
Height or aging is no more of an issue in our day than it was in previous decades. However, I certainly hope that Paola Foster is able to continue her service to the industry after this latest episode. It appears that National Association of Realtors does not value their clients’ opinions or experience when it comes to serving them as agents. Whether this is because they don’t know any better, or simply because they are too big to fail, it is a clear sign that change is needed. Let’s hope that it happens soon.
