Lisa Taddeo is a national treasure, known for her insightful and witty articles that bring light to topics that people rarely think about. As a writer and editor, she has won many awards for her work in print, television, radio, and online publications. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English at the University of Miami. She lives in southwest Florida with her partner, whom she has had since she was a young woman dating a man twice her age.

In her latest novel, The Painted City, Taddeo offers readers a look into the life of Paris as it appeared two centuries ago during the time of the famous writer, Victor Hugo. Paris has changed tremendously through the centuries, from a small sleepy town hidden away in the Forest of Arthus, to a modern city focused on artistic pursuits and the arts. It is a place where Picasso and others like him came together to express their creativity, influence world literature and even create a popular museum. As in other works by Taddeo, this one focuses on the central character, Picasso’s wife. In this book you get to know the role that marriage plays in Picasso’s creative process, what makes a relationship a good one, and how important good communication is between a husband and wife.

Age of Stars, Lisa Taddeo’s second novel, is focused on a young woman, Jordon, who lands a position as a staff writer for a publishing company. The position does not come without some challenges, as the publishing company, publisher, and writer have been established competitors for decades. A series of unfortunate incidents including the murder of her friend leads Jordon to question her own sense of loyalty to her employer and the industry that she works in. Following a brief stint at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu, she returns to Paris to pursue her dream of writing. This time she pens an article about her experience in Paris for the newsletter Les Baux de la Meuse, which attracts the attention of both the writer and her former employer, causing them to form an unlikely friendship.
