Lisa Nichols is an acclaimed motivational speaker who has motivated millions through her speaking tours and her role as a featured speaker in The Secret. She is also the founder of Motivating The Teenage Spirit, LLC, and author of the book The Narrow Road to Total Transformation. Her life and career were touched by the words of Napoleon Hill when he called her “a woman who possessed the power of looking up”. Lisa Nichols lived her life pursuing her passion and she achieved everything that she set out to do.

Lisa Nichols was born in Ohio and grew up in segregated housing in Cleveland, Ohio. Her childhood was spent being sexually abused by men and women both, while her mother was physically abused by one man during her pregnancy. Lisa was an active participant in physical education during her high school years, participating in debate clubs and receiving a B.A. in Mathematics with a concentration on education.

Once Lisa Nichols settled into a married life, the need for such an education waned. She then discovered a great love of learning and teaching and enrolled in the first United States citizenship classes she could find at Cedar Crest College in Iowa. This was a great beginning in her education but, as she matured, the need for stimulating conversations with enlightened people waned. This is probably where the roadblocks came in for her. It was then that the idea for her memoir came to her mind. Conversations with people from other parts of the country, people from different cultures, would enable her to give of herself to the needs of others and to better understand how the world worked and why she might want to get involved in public service.
