Black baggy pants or harem pants are long, baggy pants caught at the ankles. They have been around for decades, but they are making a big comeback in the fashion world today. Traditionally, harem pants were also known as a harem dress. During the Renaissance and earlier, the ladies in the court of the 15th century wore these long, dark pants as a way to keep their lower legs covered during formal events.

These pants are typically worn with tights and sometimes leggings underneath. This is the classic look today and can be seen worn in movies such as Pretty Woman, The Devil’s Advocate and Chicago. In the 1970s, due to the rise in popularity of the punk and alternative rock movements, black baggy pants became popular in the music industry. The pants were seen often by punks as a way to hide body hair and/or make a fashion statement. Today, this trend has fallen out of vogue, but they are still seen frequently in music videos, stage shows and even some dancing shows.

The colors of black baggy pants can be quite any color that you wish, although black is still the most popular. If you prefer your pants to be plain black, you could opt for a solid black pair that will go with just about any outfit. Or, if you like a little more variety, you may want to try a plaid patterned pair that is a bit more creative than black. With so many different styles to choose from, black baggy pants are a fashionable staple that will never go out of style.
