What Goths Wear – Fashion and Style in the Gothic Community

Pastel goth is about blending softer, smoother colors on the palette with the darker side of goth fashion for a very unique style combination! Very similar to kawaii fashion, but with an extra sprinkle of gothy zombie glam, you should definitely consider pastel goth makeup and pastel goth hair colors, along with Gothic eyeshadow and goth lipstick palettes. These pastels are also perfect for goth kids, teenagers, and even adults who just want to add some goth into their everyday look!

If you ask people in the goth/punk community about their pastel goth fashion, they will tell you it is influenced heavily by the early music and rock n roll. This is because these Goths love this era so much and often reference songs and artists from this time period when discussing their fashion or outfits. Many of the most popular goths today are also directly or indirectly related to music such as Marilyn Manson, Skid Row, and the hardcore groups of the early to mid 1990’s such as Poison, Cathedral, and Queen. Although goths have always been in and out of popular culture for a very long time, the goth community itself has only been becoming more mainstream over the past few years. As the industry continues to go more adult oriented, so do the types of clothes that are being made and the goths themselves.

One of the most popular styles that you can find amongst the goths is pastel goth hair colors that are darker than their normal everyday hair color. People who like the Gothic style choose bright pastel colours such as fuchsia red, coral, purple, orange, or black. These colors will usually stay true to the original Gothic colours but can get darker if dyed a different shade. A typical goth might have dyed red hair but if they choose bright pastel colours for their hair they will stay in that colour but add fuchsia or bright purple streaks down the back of their hair.
