Trend analysis in fashion is the art of judging and studying a certain trend and then exploiting that trend by understanding the consumer behavior in relation to that trend. There are many different aspects of fashion trends, and this trend analysis must be done correctly in order for the owner of the clothing shop or clothing company to make profit. The key thing to remember when doing trend analysis in fashion is that the market has two types of people; the buyers and the sellers. The sellers have the best interest in keeping their goods in demand by people who need them and want them bad enough to buy them. On the other hand, the buyers are looking for a good deal on every new fashion item that they see and would go out of their way to try to obtain it, either by checking boutiques or outlet stores.
When you do trend analysis in fashion, the first thing you should look at is the basic supply and demand of that product. If the product does not fit into the existing market, there is no demand, and therefore no profit in selling it. You should also know what type of consumers will be interested in buying the product. This is called the target market.
After you determine what the target market is, you must then determine what kind of fashion trends are likely to happen in that market. This requires you to look at what kind of products are in high demand. You should think about the colors, styles, cuts, textures, and designs of the clothes that are being sold in the current marketplace. After you have all this information, you can start doing some price analysis to see where the margin is and how much you need to charge to get that amount. Of course, when you do this, you should consider how much profit you will be able to realize from each sale.
