The world of Nationality is a very interesting place indeed. One day Ingrid Abramovitch walks into her local grocery store and sees two young Caucasian men eating behind the counter with their hands covered with bags of chips. She looks over to them and they just stare at her, their chapped lips barely hanging around their teeth as they eat. This weirdo freezes her in place, staring at this strange pair of strangers, but when she smiles they go still and are still there – oblivious to her existence.
Later that evening Ingrid goes out again and sees the same two men, this time in a park. They approach each other and immediately lock eyes. After some small talk Ingrid asks her partner where he’s from. The man only replies in Russian and continues on his own without even correcting her answer. Then slowly, he uncovers his identity and reveals himself to Ingrid, asking her if she knows him.
What Ingrid does not know is that her date’s all have a strange resemblance to Russian men, but none of them are actually Russian. Furthermore, it appears that she is the very model of this bizarre Russian nesting doll. And then one day, out in the park, she runs into another Caucasian, who introduces himself as Roman. Roman is tall and lean, but he has the pale skin of someone who lives in the Polar North. He seems genuinely interested in Ingrid, so much so that he asks her out to lunch the next day, promising to give her a lift to her apartment that afternoon. Little do Ingrid know, Roman is already gaining Ingrid’s trust.
