With all the 90s fashion trends out there, it’s hard to choose which ones are still relevant and fashion worthy. This is a subjective endeavor; I’m sure you’ll agree with me when I say that some of them are ridiculous. The most famous of 90s fashion trends was skinny jeans, they were the staple of every teenage boy’s wardrobe. However, it wasn’t until much later that they became edgy enough for adults. It seems that in time, we decided to take our fancy for things that aren’t our own, like the fashion of the hip hop culture or the grunge look.
This article will discuss three popular trends from the decade that have never seemed to go away. First up, the baggy denim jeans that were so hot back then. We were all trying to escape the boring old college life of baggy clothing; the result was a whole generation of denimheads. The baggy jeans that are so popular today are probably due to the rise in popularity of the hippie ‘hippie’ subculture. The clothes weren’t hip, but they certainly were fashionable, and for a time, that was more than you could say for most American clothing at the time. Boring patterns and colors were left in the dust.
The second trend that won’t die is that of fashionable shoes. Like the baggy jeans, sneakers, sandals and hip loafers, shoes also dominated the fashion scene during the era. This time though, the fashion didn’t focus on comfort as much as looks. Fashionistas loved quirky shoes that reflected their personality and style. The end result was shoes that looked great but were extremely uncomfortable and prone to breaking. Luckily, those days are over, as now, shoe designers have come up with stylish, comfortable shoes that still exude self-confidence.
